Progress.

Major props to the folks over at Martha Stewart Weddings for featuring a same-sex wedding in their Winter 2010 issue.

I hope this is only the beginning ... marriage equality is more than just the legal aspect of the union, but also how they are featured by the media and wedding industry. Every couple should have the chance to be featured, to take inspiration and inspire others like them. It's time (long past?) for the industry to share the spotlight. I ♥♥.

  1. I am actually surprised it has taken this long to have a same sex wedding featured. There are a handful of wedding mags that I consider more progressive (Inside Weddings, for example), and they have not done it yet (at least I have not seen it). Who knew it would be Martha!?

  2. I was so excited about it, that I tweeted about it a few weeks ago! I'm so glad they featured one.

I'm sure it has taken awhile, as most same sex probably don't think to submit their weddings, but I am glad that Martha opened the door!

I scheduled a post on this topic next week earlier this week, too, haha!

  3. Could not agree more!

P.S. Found you through Cupcake, your comment about non size 2 girls and diversity is spot on!
